I marvel all the people who are kind just because that's who they are. That would be really cool. I'm not like that, though. And maybe you aren't either. Do not give up! Being kind shouldn't be an option for us. "It's not in my personality" shouldn't be an excuse. God wants us to be kind. And the best reason I know is that God has been kind to us. Oh, so, so kind!
Here are some verses, not in any particular order:
"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."
Luke 6:35-36
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32
Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.
