More Beautiful You

~Monday Movies & Music~

Jonny Diaz has a great song, "More Beautiful You." Here are the lyrics

  "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well." Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

  "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

How about you? Do you find it easy to compare yourself to the "perfect version" people say you need to be? Do you ask too much of yourself? Can you remember that God made you wonderful?

  1. Hi.. have you ever felt before like this: Like prayer is not helpful and essentally feel mentally and spiritually turmoiled where you are praying to God to let horrible thoughts invade yourself and find yourself fighting lies from the devil and being scared that you ain't a christian even when you know you are? Why does God let the devil torment Cgristians sometimes and why does God let Satan try to tell you lies and such about not being enough for God to care or that praying will not help or that you are worthless. Why do Christians go through such emotional torment? Does the devil want to find a way for you to believe his lies. Like it's crazy. Recantly i've felt like prayer is not worth my time and not needed but at the same time I am sincerly praying that God help me deal with spiritual warfare and fighting the devil's lies...

    1. Yeah, sometimes it feels like prayer doesn't really answer problems. But God does hear us when we pray, and He is a mighty Savior!

      I used to be afraid of actually not being a Christian. But I am. God has saved me once, and that's all that is needed to always be His.

      "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." Romans 10:9-10 (ESV)

      As to God letting evil happen, HUMANS were the ones who chose and continue to choose evil again and again. We cannot blame God for giving us free will and for us screwing it up.

      I pray God helps you in this spiritual war!
