    He has the answers

Life is an interesting thing. It can be so… different. So confusing, stressful. And so joyful at times.

I have a lot of questions. And I don’t know all the answers. I don’t even know half of them. But I do know the One who has them. I know I've said this a lot, but it deserves to be said again and again. God is in control even when we don’t feel it, when we don’t feel Him. He is our Lord and God of the whole universe. He has always been and will always be.

Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Psalm 90:2

    Family

Family is an amazing thing. And I am grateful for it. I have a wonderful family with 2 parents and a lot of siblings...

So often we who have families take them for granted. Or even get tired of them. Family is this thing that should be treasured.

But God gives us something even bigger: a chance to be part if HIS family. And THAT is truly amazing and lasting. And everyone can have it.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1(NIV)

    Can ministry be for everyone?

Ministry, or any work for God, can sometimes seem unreachable. Really, you might not ever become a pastor and you might have an awful voice and you might not be good with children. So what do you do?

I, for one, think that however “plain” you think yourself to be, you probably have SOMETHING. Maybe you write. Or draw. Or you love to talk. Maybe you know a lot about horses. Or you’re a nurse. Or you love soccer, I don’t know.

But whatever you are good at, it can be used. You can write stories that glorify God. You can try to capture the beauty of His world in your drawings. You can talk to others about Him. You can run a stable and talk about God there. You can nurse people to health telling them of the One that can completely heal them forever. You can play soccer and influence the guys and girls around you. Or if you’ll become a pastor or sing in the choir or lead church service that’s great too.

So think about it. God has given you your talents. Use them for Him. Or at least give it a try.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 (NIV)

    Blessings!

    Giving

I've been reading this book I have: "I Like Giving" by Brad Formsma. It talks about the joy of giving on your own account. When it's not pressure or nudges or hints that get you to give, but something from within. A desire to give. A love for giving in small and big things.

I'll post a longer book review when I'm finished, but I wanted to share this with you. I need help in this department. I don't give much. Yet... But with the help of God, I want to be more spontaneous, consistent and unpredictable in my giving. I want to WANT to give because it helps others. And because it brings glory to my God.

    Do you?
